  • Can the glass in the composite door be replaced?

    Most composite doors come with glazing cassettes that allows the glass units to be replaced. Provided that the existing cassette which is the plastic frame around the glazing is not damaged, it can be reused when the glass panel is being replaced.

  • Is the glass panel in the composite door strong?

    Glass units in composite doors are usually made from toughened glass and are relatively robust as a double glazed or triple glazed unit. They are also energy efficient and weather proof to ensure that you have a secure entrance door for your home.

  • How thick is the glazing unit in a composite door?

    Each manufacturer will have a standard thickness size for their door glass units. The most common size is the 24mm overall thickness but it is possible to get 28mm thickness for composite doors that are thicker than the usual size. This is normal as composite doors can be customised according to customer's requirements.

    If you are not sure what the thickness of your door glazing is, then we can come out and measure for you. When it comes to ordering a new toughened glass unit, it is important that the correct size is given to ensure that it fits into the glazing cassette.
